Better Than Ice Cream -- Posted on April 4, 2008 What is Gelato? Gelato is a frozen dessert invented and made famous in Italy. Starting with only natural ingredients, Gelato is combined in a special process that creates an ice cream like dessert, only better. Better?  Yes better, Johnnie’s Gelato is made fresh daily in small batches, but unlike ice cream, it contains less air. This makes our Gelato more dense and flavorful and believe it or not, Gelato has less than eight percent fat, so it’s healthier than ice cream. I guess you can say it’s the “better” ice cream. Britton Road, 6629 NW Expressway, 421 SW 74th in Okla. City, or 33 E. 33rd in Edmond, to order one of our new flat bread Italian or Basil Chicken sandwiches.  We also have a wonderful Focaccia Club.  If a salad is what your looking for than pick from our Southwest Chicken or Chicken Caprese, a Chopped Salad or a Mandarin Cranberry.  You will be glad you did.
